It was Party Anthem Night on DWTS, featuring guest judge Redfoo from LMFAO. One couple was eliminated and one couple received a perfect score from the judges. I watched it so you don’t have to, so read on to find out who stayed, who went, and who rocked it!
First up this week was Nene Leakes and Tony Dovolani, who danced the salsa to “Hot in Herre” by Nelly. There was noticeably less tension this week, so that was good! Nene looked stunning in her golden outfit; she was simply glowing! The judges gave them a 33 out of 40.
Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas were up next, dancing the cha-cha to Iconapop’s “I Love It.” Candace’s outfit was basically a disco ball! She worked really hard to try to be sexy, but unfortunately, she landed in jeopardy. There was a silver lining, though (no pun intended). We got this ridiculous Redfoo quote: “I got two words for that outfit…BLING BLING.” They scored 32 out of 40.
Coming off of a perfect score, James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd danced the quickstep to “You’re the One That I Want” from Grease. They had a very stressful week of rehearsals but managed to score a 35 out of 40. Sidenote: how cute is Peta’s pink outfit?!
Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy danced the cha-cha to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” Len Goodman called it the best dance of the night! When they were doing their post-dance interview, Val started braiding Danica’s hair. His explanation? “When I get nervous, I just start braiding things.” Their score was a 36 out of 40.
Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy danced the tango to “Feel So Close” by Calvin Harris next. They were also having a rough rehearsal week but managed to put on an awesome performance and score a 40 OUT OF 40!! Another great Redfoo quote: “I say E.T. phone home…because that was out of this world!”
Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke were next, with the tango to “Super Freak.” Unfortunately, Drew totally predicted his fate when he said in the rehearsal package, “I feel like this is my last week.” It was, but he went out looking like a ladies man! Still, they scored a 32 out of 40.
Charlie White and Sharna Burgess danced the cha-cha to “Everybody Dance Now.” The neon colors and glow in the dark sticks felt like a rave and it was AWESOME! Not to mention, Sharna’s eye makeup and pink hair streaks were totally on point. Together, they earned a 36 out of 40.
Closing out the dancing was Amy Purdy and Derek Hough, with the jive to “Shout!” I. Loved. This. One. It started with a “wedding” where Derek burst in, like a total “Speak Now” by Taylor Swift moment. He whisked Amy away for a dance that ended with her doing a cartwheel. Bruno Tonioli quote of the night? “Marry me, darling, marry me!” The judges gave them a solid 38 out of 40.
The three couples with the lowest scores then took the stage: Danica & Val, Candace & Mark, and Drew & Cheryl. It was sad, but we had to say goodbye to Drew & Cheryl. He was surprised he made it so far! I’m glad he got to fulfill his dream of being on the show.
