If you’re not already on board the Chris Pratt Appreciation Train, you will be after this.  Because really, what’s not to love? He’s an adorable father to son Jack, plays the hilarious goofball Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreationand can French Braid on command.  Oh, and he likes to visit children’s hospitals while dressed as his superhero alter ego from the summer blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy.

In an interview with Panzer TV, Pratt mentioned that he took home a few pieces of his Guardians wardrobe (including Peter Quill’s signature leather jacket) so that if the movie did well, he could dress up as Quill/Star-Lord and visit sick kids who are in need of a superhero.

If it was a big enough movie, to where it would mean something to a kid who’s sick in the hospital for Peter Quill or Star-Lord to come visit them, I’ll do that. I think that’s awesome, man. That would give me real meaning for this movie, you know?”

And that’s just what he did.  With a little help from Marvel and Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Pratt arranged a screening of the film for patients, families, and staff at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Wednesday.  Pratt then dressed up as his character, Star-Lord, and spent more than three hours handing out movie-themed toys, letting kids try on his jacket, and visiting with patients, including those too sick to go to the screening.

Forget the fame, fortune, and fast-life — Pratt hopes that in the end, he proves to be a good role model for his son.

Right now, it means high profile, cool jobs coming up, big press tour, and all the excitement of it all. But none of that really means anything. The coolest things would be that my son can one day see this and that maybe I can go affect some kids in a positive way, and be a good role model for them.”

Mission accomplished, Chris.

So.  Are you a Chris Pratt superfan yet?  I sure am!  I love a guy who doesn’t let superstardom get to his head and chooses to give back to a good cause.

And have you seen Guardians of the Galaxy?  If not, you must!  It was spectacular and Chris does not disappoint.  {Neither does Groot, he’s my fave}
