The first picture of the unrecognizable Christopher Walken as Captain Hook in NBC’s Peter Pan Live! has been released, and bonus — Peter Pan himself is in it!  I mean, herself. Kind of.

It was announced in July that Girls star Allison Williams would be taking on the lead role of Peter Pan, a character she has always dreamed about playing.

I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true. It’s such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?”

To prepare for the demanding role, Williams has been taking flying lessons and even offered to cut her hair, but will be wearing a short wig instead.  NBC revealed the first portrait of Williams in costume in September.

Opposite Williams is Christopher Walken as the villainous Captain Hook.  Other recent casting announcements include Wendy Darling and Tiger Lily, played by Taylor Louderman and Alanna Saunders, respectively.

Peter Pan Live! airs on NBC, Thursday, December 4.

What do you think about the casting for this?  Are you excited to see Christopher Walken play Captain Hook?

Captain Hook has always been one of my favorites, so I am very eager to see Walken pull this off!  And I’m sure Allison Williams will be incredible as well.
