I’ve been drowning in research papers and newspaper assignments and required reading…but I made time for a new installment of “What You May Have Missed!” Nothing too life-changing has happened recently (except for Zayn leaving One Direction, but obviously you already knew that), so things are pretty light this week. Read more for an excerpt from the new Game of Thrones book, a Price Is Right blunder, the ultimate April Fools’ Day prank, one movie that you’ll definitely want to check out, and one that now you won’t have the chance to (thanks, Internet).
The woman who gave an incredible performance in Boyhood and an epic speech at the Oscars when she won Best Supporting Actress, Patricia Arquette, is writing a memoir! No details about the title or release date have been announced, but the book will touch on her “unconventional family life, being a 20-year-old single mother and being a woman in Hollywood.” I just need to know one thing: when can I pre-order?!
Any Game of Thrones fans out there? If so, surely you already have heard that George R.R. Martin, author of the series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” has just released an excerpt from his new book, “The Winds of Winter.” It’s a pretty long passage…actually, it looks just long enough to hold you over until the fifth season premiere of GOT in a few weeks.
This is something you need to see to believe. Check out the video below (and completely die of envy that this contestant guessed wrong and still got a free car).
Well, obviously. RDJ will receive the Generation Award at the MTV show on April 12. The best part? His Avengers co-stars will present the award! We’ll be seeing Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo. Not only will the whole team reunite for the award, but they will also debut an exclusive 90-second clip from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel fans, mark your calendars!
Rihanna just pulled one over on the biggest prankster! With the help of Jimmy Kimmel’s wife, Molly, Ri snuck into Kimmel’s bedroom at what appears to be 1:30 A.M. and threw a dance party to her new single, “Bitch Better Have My Money.” It’s about time someone put this prankster in his place! Check out this awesome video of how it all went down!
It all happened so fast. First it was announced that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig would star in a Lifetime movie called A Deadly Adoption. Then Ferrell and Wiig decided to pull the plug on their film because news of the project made its way to the Internet. Unfortunately, this was not an April Fools’ Day joke. Life can be so cruel.
How did I not know this was a thing?! Live From New York!, a documentary about SNL, will open the Tribeca Film Festival on April 15 and debut in U.S. theaters on June 12. Fifty SNL members were interviewed for the film, including Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Chris Rock, and Alec Baldwin. Just tell me when I can buy my ticket!
Good husband alert! Former Bachelor Sean Lowe stuck up for his wife, Catherine, after she posted an Instagram picture on April Fools’ Day that made it look like she was pregnant. People definitely have strong opinions about pregnancy jokes on April 1st, and a lot of critics flocked en masse to Catherine’s profile. Lowe clarified that his wife was making a joke of the slew of comments she receives about looking pregnant, but some people felt it was insensitive to those who struggle with infertility. Check out Lowe’s blog to read his response.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum was visiting a salon in Los Angeles on Thursday when she accidentally hit another car while pulling into a parking garage. She took responsibility for her mistake, though, and left a sweet apology note on the damaged car. Way to be an upstanding citizen, Jenna! (PS. Where can I get those workout clothes?! See the first photo on this post.)
