Jimmy Kimmel knows how to pull off an epic prank, but he also knows how to be a class act. In honor of David Letterman’s final Late Show on CBS on May 20, Kimmel has chosen to air a repeat episode of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, which is on at the same time as Letterman.
Kimmel told the New York Times,
I have too much respect for Dave to do anything that would distract viewers from watching his final show. Plus, I’ll probably be crying all day, which makes it hard to work.”
You and me both, Jimmy!
As of now, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Conan will air new episodes during the time slot of Letterman’s final late-night show. Stephen Colbert is set to take over Late Show on September 8.
