Quick, Tay, call the squad — you might have some more “bad blood” on your hands! The Internet is a rabbit-hole full of clickbait, a tactic that tabloids frequently employ. This time, though, OK! Magazine went too far and messed with the wrong pop princess.
Taylor Swift has been in the news lately after she helped a couple with their pregnancy announcement, but OK! Magazine thought the more interesting story would be to make it sound like Swift was the one pregnant. In a tweet with the story’s link, they wrote,
@taylorswift13 has made a ‘pregnancy announcement’!”
Not only was the tweet extremely misleading, but in the article, Swift was not referred to as Grammy-winning, world-touring superstar, but as “Harry Styles’ ex girlfriend” and “Calvin Harris’ rumoured girlfriend.”
Sorry, OK!, but Swift is easily more well-known than both of those talented musicians.
Of course, Swift was not having any of this, so she called the tabloid out on her Twitter.
And everyone said, “Amen.”
Similarly, Ariana Grande recently shared her frustrations about only being referred to as a boy’s past. It’s safe to say Grande would be #TeamTaylor on this one.
What are your thoughts on the magazine’s misleading tweet and misogynistic article?
